ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Compliance Surveys
On July 26, 1992 the “Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990” became fully
effective. This Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability, which includes failure to provide ready access to public and private facilities by individuals with disabilities.
The law includes facilities such as hotels, restaurants, theaters, commercial and other public buildings, transportation terminals or stations, parks, schools, and
recreation areas. Failure to make facilities readily accessible and usable by individuals with disabilities is subject to a maximum fine of $100,000.
AquaTerra personnel visually inspect a facility to confirm it as meeting the statutory requirements that it be “accessible and usable by individuals with
disabilities.” Our inspection will consist of a walk-through of the facility to identify possible access restrictions, and to recommend any modifications necessary to bring the facility into compliance.
